Earth Day is celebrated every year on the 22nd of April. In 1970, a senator from Wisconsin, USA, Gaylord Nelson first conceived of this day. The senator was worried about the rate of industrialization and the careless attitude of everyone towards our environment.

Why it’s Important. Our planet is truly a magnificent place. Known as the Blue Planet due to its abundance of water, the Earth is an incredibly complex and vibrant ecosystem, where living organisms interact with each other and their environment to create the ideal conditions for life.

Environment 254 team decided to celebrate earth day at Korogocho Refuge Center . Transport was provided for from Jeevanjee garden to the Refuge Center.

“What a nice way to celebrate you Earth Day by giving back to the community and to the environment. On 22nd April environment 254 will be at Korogocho Children’s Development Center- K.A.G. Korogocho Church. “

Activities were .

1.Fruits tree planting

2 Mentorship session talk to children on why environment is important and what they can do.

3. Build some sack farming gardens .

4.Plant grass.
